We have been established for 80 years and are proud to be Surrey’s largest independently owned Quarrying and Waste management company.
John and Joseph Franks started the business as a haulage company in 1941. In the 1950s, Betchworth Sand Quarry was purchased to provide high quality building sand to the construction industry in the South. The company was then acquired by P Crate Ltd in 1963, with the current Managing Director being a third generation P (Peter) Crate.
Franks is a family run business and has evolved into an integrated recycling, waste management and aggregates business, servicing a wide range of commercial and domestic customers.
We are looking forward to the next 80 years with confidence!
